Real Easter Eggs

How exciting Easter is just around the corner..! I cant wait until Aleksandar is a little older so he can race around the yard hunting for his hidden Easter eggs. Although I was thinking I will probably substitute some of the chocolate eggs with real eggs to avoid a sugar overload. Here is some inspiration for using real eggs.

Today I want to dedicate my post to my Mum and Dad and my In-laws. They have been an amazing support to my husband and I over the last 3 months since I gave birth to my son Aleksandar. They made sure we where well feed, had a tidy house, clean clothes and most importantly where there for emotional support when we needed them....so I just wanted to say THANK YOU...xo xo

Print & Pattern Post

I am so excited that Illume Design has been featured on the blog Print & Pattern. This is a wonderful blog that celebrates the world of surface pattern design, you will find textiles, cards, gift wrap, stationery, wallpaper, tableware, books, illustration, and anything that fits in with the love of printed patterns and motifs. If you haven't already visited the website you should check it out, as it is just fabulous.

I have been following this blog since 2006, I discovered the website when I was designing ceramics for a company called HWI, my designs where sold to Myer, David Jones, Big W, Target, Kmart and even Spotlight. I would check Print & Pattern first thing every morning at work while drinking my cup of tea. I found it very inspirational and it helped me to keep up with the latest trends from around the world it also helped me to design new and exciting products. I feel honored to be featured on such a great website. This has truly made my day.

PS: Designing homewares seems like a life time away now, so I thought I would share with you some of my popular designs. These ranges where sold in department stores across Australia.

I am excited to say yesturday I received my first ever blog award from the lovely Nellie at McCarthy Designs the award is the 'Sunshine Award'.

Then today I received another award 'Master of Karate and Friendship Award' from the talented Janette at My Sweet Prints.

Wow... I only started my blog two weeks ago and I do feel very special and honored to have received 2 awards in such a short time so thank you, Nellie and Janette.

Design work for Signature

A while ago I was approached by the owner of a company called Signarture which specialises in canvas and perspex art to do some freelance graphic design. I spent just over a year with the director working on briefs for several categories. I thought I would share with you some of the designs I created and my most favourite. This was one of my most enjoyable jobs and I was thrilled to be a part of it.

Baby Love

I am excited to say I now have another nephew, Jacob Carlos Brito born on the 18th March 2010. Congratulations Carlos and Hollie .. xo

My cute little nephew has made me realise that Aleksandar will officially no longer be a newborn as of Sunday :(

He has graduated from;
- newborn nappies into crawlers,
- 0000 & 000 jumpsuits into 00 clothes,
- having a wobbly little head to being able to hold it up proud and high,
- sleeping for only 2 hours in the evening to 6 hours (7 if i am lucky),
- feeding for 1 hour to 20 minutes,
- being able to smile and coo

Watching Aleksandar grow and develop is amazing and sometimes I just cant believe he is mine and that I am actually a mother......

Aleksandar's birdie mobile

I was given this beautiful birdie mobile to me from a friend at my baby shower, isn't it just delightful? Aleksandar seems to be fascinated by the two little birds that twinkle around up there. This photo just makes me smile, so I had to share it with you.I would also like to thank Lynsey and Matt at cuteable for featuring my Baku Wedding Invite on their website yesturday.

Earth Hour 2010

Just wanted to remind you that Earth Hour is on next Saturday 27th of March at 8.30pm. So don't forget to turn out your lights to show your support for a sustainable future. My Husband and I do this every year we get out the candles, and make a evening of it, its a good excuse to spend some time together, with out the distraction of tv, lights, phones etc..

In 2009 hundreds of millions of people around the world showed their support, I hope the awareness in 2010 is even bigger from every individual, every business and every community.

My Home Made Birthday Cake

Here it is.. This is the carrot cake that I made for my father in laws birthday. It is no way near as pretty and professional as the inspiration I posted the other day......Oh well.. I tried my best and I suppose its not to bad for a learner.
PS: It tasted great!

Kid's Birthday Party Invites

Hopefully I can put a day aside this week (if Aleksandar behaves- at the moment he just loves sitting on my lap watching the computer while I work) Anyways I thought I would share with you what I have already designed:
